Variety’s the very spice of life, That gives it all its flavour’ so wrote our namesake William Cowper. Cowpers Oak is a beautiful, quintessentially English pub set in the centre of the rural village of Weston Underwood, Olney, Buckinghamshire. The wisteria covered; red brick provides a charming background to the front terrace of umbrella shaded tables which overlook the ancient village green.
The Cowpers Oak Bar is home real ales, an extensive wine list, cocktails and an equally great relaxed Italian style atmosphere. Many customers prefer the cosy ambience of the bar for informal dining.
The Cowpers Kitchen prides itself on a comprehensive range of food which, with very few exceptions, are prepared by our own kitchen staff. We have both Pub Classic and our authentic Smokehouse menus. Prefer a quiet night in? Try ‘Cowpers at Home’, out takeaway service.
Why not stay a while at the Cowpers in one of our four well equipped and cosy rooms? A great breakfast awaits you in the morning. There are many attractions a short distance from us ranging from the historic venues such as Woburn Abbey and Bletchley park to the brights lights and shopping in Milton Keynes.
We are, at our heart, a village pub and we offer what we like to call ‘Cowpers Life’ to give a varied experience throughout the week. These range from special food nights to open night nights … see our ‘What’s On’ page for details. Come rain or shine ‘Cowpers Life’ has something to offer.
In the summer much of the activity switches to our outdoor spaces – the Garden Bar & Dining and the Front terrace. Food can be ordered at the main bar and it will be delivered direct to your table. Our key event for the Summer is the Summer Beer Festival know as CowperFest which combines an eclectic mix of music with great food and bountiful real ale and cider. Not to be missed.
